THE CONSUMER CODE

The Consumer Code is there for your protection. It’s an industry-led initiative, designed to make the process of buying a home in the UK simple and fair. Apart from giving you protection when you buy a new build home, it keeps you informed along the way so you know what your rights are, what kind of service level you should expect and how to find low cost dispute resolution if any issues arise.

HELP TO BUY
Help to Buy is a government-backed scheme which helps you buy a new home with only a 5% deposit. It’s not limited to first time buyers either, existing home owners can use it to move up the property ladder. Here’s how it works:
- you only need a minimum 5% deposit to qualify
- it applies to new build properties in England, up to £600,000 in value
- the government lends you up to 40% of the property value, you will need to secure a mortgage for the remaining 55%
- you can repay the loan any time

SEVEN STEPS TO BUYING YOUR NEW BUGLER HOME
1. Find your perfect home
Choose which property is right for you and your family in terms of size, location, style and budget view our current property list
2. Secure your choice
with a deposit and reservation agreement. You may qualify for the government backed Help to Buy scheme which only requires a 5% deposit (it’s not just for first time buyers) see details
3. Instruct your lawyer
They’ll need to process the contract and take care of your house sale, if you are selling your existing place as part of the process
4. Organise your mortgage
Send us the details of your mortgage once you’ve applied
You’ll need to pay 10% of the property price and sign the contract, at this point, you’ll be met at your new home by one of the Bugler team members who will hand over the keys to your new place answer any questions you may have
6. Prepare to move
