Green Lane: A focus on landscaping

Bugler Homes recently completed six, three-bedroom contemporary apartments located on the prestigious Green Lane, Oxhey. All apartments have been finished to a high specification throughout. The development also benefits from mature landscaped gardens, enhanced and cultivated in house by our landscaping operative, Frank McBrien.

On a crisp, January afternoon we met Frank on site to talk us through the choices made on planting and landscaping at Green Lane.

The secluded rear gardens at Green Lane combine existing mature trees and shrubs along the border of the property. The enclosed patios and balconies overlook a verdant lawn area for the enjoyment of the residents. A gentle curving pathway leads from the rear of the apartments across the lawn to a secure cycle store, made of timber which naturally blends in with its surroundings.

Sympathetic additions in the rear garden include bay trees, a flowering tulip tree and ferns. Hardy, year round planting is accompanied with flowers which bring splashes of colour – periwinkles, Portuguese laurel and Helleborus.

At the front of the building, flowered planting borders the front façade, and at the very front of the property, further planting provides some privacy built upon a retaining wall of vintage railway sleepers.
